Why is gyarados flying

I think this guy does not own one of the Gen IV games, when female and male differences became apparent. Hellkaiserryo12 , 2 December UTC. What is the other? If it is referring to the news report at the start of DPPt, isn't that referring to the same Gyarados? I apologise if this is not what it is referring to, as I have not played Platinum or any non-main series games. If my theory is not the case, perhaps this page should link to or indicate what the other pokemon is.

Pokemon94 , 24 January UTC. I don't know how, but I was fishing in Fuchsia City hoping to catch a Psyduck when I encountered and caught a lv. Is this normal? This isn't necessarily true, however, because you can find Red Gyaradoses any time, it doesn't necessarily mean it was the same one from GSC. It is shiny after all, so it could have been found in Lake Verity for all we know.

This, however, is likely speculation. The Lake of Rage is a known nesting area for a red Gyarados, something that researchers believe happen when a Magikarp is forced to evolve, having no time to change its scale color from red to blue.

Is that true? Brock said that the Gyaradose looked small and suggested that its parents may be swimming neer by. This sugests that Gyarados take care of their young or at the very least meet up with their offspring later in life. Too bad I don't have a way of uploading the sprite to prove it. Has any one else noticed that the first segment behind G's head is reversed and that the fins on Segments 2 and 3 are different depending on what side you are viewing Truthseeker , 12 July UTC.

Gyarados looks sorta like the creature from the black lagoon. Or whatev. Dunno what that guy is talking about, but I do have something to say about Gyarados' origin. In the part where it says that its Flying Type may be a reference to the karp kites, wouldn't it make more sense to say that it's a reference to Chinese dragon kites?

From: LightningAce11 Sigh. There was this story about a carp that was turned into a dragon, but then it rampaged and the gods stripped its dragon status away. Do read the topic next time. User Info: Runeboggle. Because it's based on a kite. User Info: Arcanine DutchKraken posted Since the Carp that succeed in the jump, can basically "fly". And those transform into a dragon, resembling Gyarados. Any pokemon can jump. Less is more.

Everything you want, isn't everything you need. User Info: ThatKipp. Gyarados looks like a wind sock, which flies in the wind, therefore Gyarados is Flying-type. User Info: Lexifox. Because the carp is strongly affiliated with the koinobori, a carp-themed windsock that holds cultural significance to Japan. User Info: Summonearth. Probably because Gyarados is overpowered so they decide to cripple it by giving it a x4 weakness?

Arcanine posted Ben Davis February 8, Does gyarados fly in the anime? Does gyarados have wings? Can Red gyarados learn fly? Is Red gyarados better than blue? Are Red gyarados rare? Is Red gyarados always female? How heavy is gyarados? What is the weakness of gyarados?

Why is gyarados so angry? Which is better Milotic or gyarados?
