This year is Metroid's 35th anniversary and Metroid Dread 's release offers a reason to revisit Prime 3 's historic Easter egg, but this would also be a perfect way to prepare fans for Metroid Prime 4. Metroid Prime 4 has also had a rocky history since Nintendo announced the game with a teaser image at E3 As previously mentioned, the game had to restart development under Retro Studios in because Takahashi said it was not meeting Nintendo's standards.
After Metroid Dread was announced, pre-orders topped Amazon's Best Sellers chart, and sales of older Metroid games on the Wii U virtual console skyrocketed.
The game has quite apparently jumpstarted interest in what has often been considered one of Nintendo's more niche, undersung franchises, and that may offer better momentum leading into Metroid Prime 4. However, much like people want to play the main Metroid games through Fusion prior to Dread , many will want to get their hands on the original Prime Trilogy prior to Prime 4.
Even if the task does prove to be herculean, there's ample reason to believe that now is the best time to re-release Metroid Prime Trilogy on Switch. Nintendo is known to hold games like these in the past, as was the case with Pikmin 3 Deluxe, which was reported by Grubb earlier as well. The fact that Metroid Prime 4 has been in development for so long might have reduced the buzz around it, and the release of the Trilogy could be the perfect way to build up the hype once again and remind players about why the Metroid Prime franchise is critically acclaimed.

While you can't resell the digital version, you could still end up with problems with a physical copy, like a seller sending you a scratched copy, etc. Also, I'm pretty sure you can re-download games once you've purchased them, so if push comes to shove, you can delete the game if you need space and re-download it later if you want to replay it.
Not to mention, you can use external hard drives with the Wii U, so space isn't much of an issue if you can pick up an extra hdd. Power concedes nothing without a demand. Your advice is appreciated! I think I am starting to lean toward digital. Going off of my initial playthrough, I don't think I will end up disliking the game, and selling stuff online is a pain for me anyway.
Even if I do come to some point where my interest wanes, I had a lot of fun just wandering around and exploring. With that in mind, I don't think there will come a time where I completely stop playing. User Info: FurryBoi. Digital version has advantages over the physical, too. The load times are shorter especially with doors opening.
