The other scopes that are new, I think are actually made in korea instead of china. I keep trying to tell everyone this. The company was worth billions at one point. The problem is market share. They only are able to get a couple of their products in stores these days. I think bushnell made the decision that their product line wasn't making enroads in the retail market. I am sure they felt like hey no one is buying our high quality japanese built scopes. The stores aren't seeing a niche so they aren't ordering product.
I think bushnell decided to broaden their medium to low end product line, probably targeting nikon's market share. They don't have the brand name to compete with nightforce toe to toe, despite the fact I think much of their line compares well to nightforce. Its hard to change brand identity. GOD Bless America. Word is that Bushnell bought out weaver and is discontinuing all the weaver scopes. If you try to send in a scope for repair, they do not service them anymore and you will only be offered a comparable bushnell. If you are looking for Best American made binoculars I am sorry but all the American brands that you know like the Leupold, Vortex, Bushnell are only assembled in America with parts from other Asian countries like China, Japan, and the Philippines.
For the price this red dot is amazing. Penny for penny it is better than my Vortex and my Eotech. Zeroed at 50 yards in no time at all. Pretty certain they are Chinese made, but Zeiss may weigh on the quality control a bit more than some other brands.
